Another summer's day, lots of heat waves, The brightest time of year, toasting it may. The most beautiful world in microwaves With which we celebrate the summer's day. Vacation seasons for the young and old, A summer break for family and more. Best time for travel, wishfuls are told. At landmarks, tourists crowded like in a war. Line up at the best spots for a photo. To cameras with smiles we show our graces. Who hears complaints of a moment ago? Who sees the sweats behind the smiling faces? Attrative pictures can be charm or curse. Full moon shrinks, best can go nowhere but worse.
Summer Arrives
Men wished for sunshine got their wishes granted. Decided has summer to arrive in May. I dragged my way to DUMBO, which enchanted In brightness, boiling scenic in heat ray. Pretend did I enjoy the classic scene, With photos like by many tourist unknown. Bright colors and right contrast in the screen Seem proving day enjoyable as shown. Inside I soaked in suffering wetness, And wished for clouds and winds, even some rains. The liveliest scene represents breathlessness Enjoyable sights hide unspoken pains. Those who appreciate the colorful Will not know prices behind the wonderful.
Foliage at Brooklyn Bridge Park
Another autumn comes and almost gone. With rain today foliage will disappear. By work my energy has overdrawn. Shall I go catch the season while it's here? Debated with laziness won heart of art. Regret shall I without some proof of life. Equipped with tripod and phone I depart. With skills and spirit in Reels I'd get rife. Along the water waited the golden leaves. On path the harvest colors paved the way. Best moment greatest season they achieve, Not knowing their fate after rain today. Best colors shiver under thunderstorms. Eternal grace lives only in art forms.
Sonnet – The Shed
Is it ghost house disguised as modern art, Or science decorated in future skin? To worth the ticket we all pretend smart, Appreciating whispers in ghost scene. Together people sit or lie on floor, Submerging in illusions of the rocks. Photography, recordings, and more, To memorize the weird flying blocks. Another room makes sense of cubes on fly, And put them in the landmarks that well known. Like aliens visit City from the sky, Abnormal shapes belong to foreign zone. Imaginations find their audience. Pretenders meet creative brilliance.
Sonnet – portrait from a suitor
An ordinary girl, naive and shy, Reserved and keeps her distance far at length. Just like a rabbit to holes, bird to sky, A little creature will run, facing strength. When I approach, she steps back, acted polite. Yet ice enchanted between us, freezing air. Afraid is she to see me on first sight. A dear does not believe lions showing care. Explaining, I just want to be her friend, Like drums to be with sticks, violin with bow. With others, she insist time I should spend. I know she wants friends just does not know how. A pretty turtle trapped in her own shell. A frog refusing freedom lives in well.
Sonnet – Pandemic
My neck was yelling in protest of pain By working hard in front of computer. No more walking on street and no more train. No more phone and keycard to remember. The only human I saw was doorman, Who sat behind the glass under the mask. Some good day I saw delivery man, And handed him good tip for life risking task. In weekends I walked ten blocks to DUMBO, And looked at bustling life in great distance. Pretending non New Yorker I took photo, Instagrammed it to prove my existence. Confined at home was no more subnormal. The distanced life became the new normal.
Sonnet – Sofa
Let me tell you the thought I have long had, To be together, dear love, just you and I. Don’t worry even if others think it is bad. Forever I have love you, don’t ask me why. Enjoyed the time we sat close, head to head, You sleeping, I pretended reading a page. Together, sofa is better than bed. I had forgotten what was hate and rage. We will just be together, dance and sing. You just take care of living, I the pay. All treasures World has produced I shall bring. Let’s be together, until the very last day, Till both of us have taken our last breath. Let’s never be apart, from life to death.
