Along the walkway lay the empty benches. They bathed in sunshine facing the river. A month ago the benches were popular. Just now no one had time nor mood to spare. If you find yourself forgotten no fear. Attention is not worth to get despair. No one is always worth to remember. The up and down of life is only fair.
Stars was shining upon me like heaven, Grace of best human imagination. They had traveled from beginning of time, Sending messages aged years of billions. They had whispered secret of universe, That when there is beginning, there is end. Live the best of life, enjoy the current. Stars reached my eyes might die at the moment.
When death had finally come to my side, I smiled, said welcome, and held his cold hand. For never had I been afraid to die, Been waiting I had for him all my life. Like lovers promised to be together, How long he would have to wait no matter. Naive, youth, and the beauty had left me. Soon friends and family would leave me be. But death would stay with me till forever. More loyal than the most faithful lover.
My neck was yelling in protest of pain By working hard in front of computer. No more walking on street and no more train. No more phone and keycard to remember. The only human I saw was doorman, Who sat behind the glass under the mask. Some good day I saw delivery man, And handed him good tip for life risking task. In weekends I walked ten blocks to DUMBO, And looked at bustling life in great distance. Pretending non New Yorker I took photo, Instagrammed it to prove my existence. Confined at home was no more subnormal. The distanced life became the new normal.
The flowers withered, and the bamboos faded. The trees took bath in sunshine far far away. The window shielded the world into two domains, The safe side sick with dark suffocation, The sick side enjoyed happy painless death.
Floating with memory, you with me, Singing a song under elder tree. Winter passed, summer gone, you still there, Visible just to my memory.
Through the window I saw sunshine and the flowers, Calling me out to have fun with pretty nature. Yet I watched like innocents confined in prison. Health and safety called for rational and patience.
Let me tell you the thought I have long had, To be together, dear love, just you and I. Don’t worry even if others think it is bad. Forever I have love you, don’t ask me why. Enjoyed the time we sat close, head to head, You sleeping, I pretended reading a page. Together, sofa is better than bed. I had forgotten what was hate and rage. We will just be together, dance and sing. You just take care of living, I the pay. All treasures World has produced I shall bring. Let’s be together, until the very last day, Till both of us have taken our last breath. Let’s never be apart, from life to death.
Drinking a coffee I sit by my desk alone, Lost in thought, building a castle on words quietly. Just another minute and I shall be god of world. Creatures shall obey my order, live happily, sick no more.
